Good morning.
It's all getting a bit real re: the under 50 minute target with offers of training support and the start of my fundraising campaign for Think Pink Scotland.
I am quite excited but thought I had better turn some of that energy into action so have signed up for the BUPA Great Winter Run in Edinburgh on Saturday 09 January. It is a 5K event but I thought it would give me a good idea of the pace that I am currently running at - it does feel faster than I have ever run before but it would be good to know if that is in the legs as well as the mind!
Link above if anyone fancies it...
Also, time is running out to enter the Glasgow Women's 10K with the early bird discount - it really is the best running event ever, come on - you know you want to!

You know it is winter when...
… you have finished your run by 8am and it is still dark! However, you do feel great and very righteous that you have exercised before the world has even managed to officially wake up. This morning I went out along the canal from Maryhill towards Falkirk and would you believe it but there were little baby deer. Just five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Maryhill Road there they are, three of them, just sauntering along the canal path – generally minding their own business (well, until a cyclist with no lights appears out of nowhere and gives them – and me – the fright of their lives!).
Well, that’s it – the Glasgow Women’s 10K training has officially started! Entry form is in and targets have been set. It will be my 15th consecutive year of running the world’s greatest running event and I can’t wait. My best ever time (and that was a couple of years ago!) was 53.20 but this year I want to do it in under 50 minutes! There, I have not only said it but now I have written it down… there is no going back. Who’s with me?

Womens 10K training
Hello fellow jog/runners
Im Evelyn,
First blog ever may i add , but the plan is to keep you all up to date with how my training is or isnt coming along for next years Womens 10K.
I just enjoyed a nice break from jogging for a few weeks ..due to a slight Knee injury unforeseen and very annoying but ventured out for a run this morning and managed a good 4 miles before the grip of pain became too much too bare ,The cold mornings are just the thing to blow the cobwebs away and im hoping to at least be running twice a week for the next few weeks and then get a bit more serious after the festive season (hope your all agreed on this tee hee hee)..
Next run pencilled in for saturday morning after i drop my little girl Naomh at dance class, i have an hour to spare so i will use it wisely and i feel some hill work may be just the thing so all going according to plan i will drop by and update you all and if you feel up to it you can do some hill work too T.T.F.N.
